Four key points for choosing a planetary reducer.

Among a wide variety of reducers, planetary reducers are widely used in servo, stepper, DC and other transmission systems due to their advantages of small size, excellent transmission efficiency, wide reduction range and high precision. On the basis of ensuring the transmission effect, it is mainly used to reduce the speed, increase the torque and reduce the moment of inertia ratio of the load/motor. If you want to select a suitable planetary reducer, the following four aspects need to be considered:

1: Determine the required reduction ratio. If the standard reducer of our company cannot provide the reduction ratio you need, you can contact our company for customization.

2: After determining the reduction ratio, multiply the rated torque of your selected servo motor by the reduction ratio. Theoretically, the obtained value should be less than the rated output torque of a similar reducer in the product catalog. At the same time, the overload capacity of the driving motor and the maximum working torque required in practice should also be considered. The required maximum working torque should be less than twice the rated output torque. After meeting the above conditions, please choose a reducer with a relatively small volume, because a reducer with a small volume usually has a lower cost.

3: Pay attention to the backlash. The smaller the backlash, the higher the precision, but the cost will also increase accordingly. Users also need to consider the transverse/radial force situation and the average service life. A reducer with a large transverse/radial force is more reliable during installation and use, and the probability of problems is lower.

4: Finally, the weight of the equipped motor needs to be considered. Each reducer is only allowed to be matched with a motor weighing less than a certain weight. If the motor is too heavy, long-term operation may damage the input flange of the reducer.
