Analysis of the Types of Gear Reducers

1) According to the working conditions of the gears in (gear reducers), they can be classified as: – Semi-open gear reducers, where the gears are equipped with guards and partially immersed in the oil pool, but not completely closed. – Open gear reducers, where the gears are completely exposed, and lubrication is difficult to be effectively guaranteed. – Closed gear reducers, where the shafts, gears, and bearings of the reducer are all installed in a closed box. The lubrication conditions are superior, dust from the working environment is difficult to enter, the installation accuracy is high, and the gear transmission has good working conditions. It is the most widely used and best-reviewed gear reducer. 2) According to the relative positions of the two shafts and the direction of the gear teeth, they can be classified into the following categories: – Bevel gear reducers. – Cylindrical gear reducers. – Crossed helical gear reducers. 3) Distinguished by the hardness of the tooth surface of the reducer: – Hardened tooth gears, where the hardness of the working surface of the gear teeth is greater than 350HBS or 38HRC. – Soft tooth gears, where the hardness of the working surface of the gear teeth is less than or equal to 350HBS or 38HRC.
